About the role Working closely with the AML/CTF Officer and the Office of General Counsel, you will support the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm's AML/CTF and broader risk framework. This hands-on role offers exposure to both legal and operational risk, where you will work directly with partners, lawyers and business teams across the firm's national practice. You will take ownership of defined onboarding and AML tasks under supervision, while contributing to improving consistency, efficiency and quality across the firm's risk and intake processes. Duties In this role you will: Support AML/CTF compliance by responding to internal queries and assisting with the interpretation of designated service obligations, client due diligence and matter risk assessments. Conduct and review client due diligence, analyse company and trust structures, identify beneficial owners, and assist with higher-risk onboarding matters. Review sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs) and adverse media results, identify risk indicators and escalate matters where appropriate. Assist with new business intake by reviewing legal, regulatory and reputational risks while supporting consistent onboarding and escalation processes. Contribute to systems and process improvement, including data quality, workflow improvements and nationally consistent onboarding practices. Assist in developing guidance materials, templates and training resources, while supporting practice groups to implement AML/CTF processes. About you To be successful in this role you will ideally: Be at an early stage of your career (typically 1-3 years' PAE or equivalent experience) with prior experience in regulatory compliance and risk. Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation and regulatory guidance. Have excellent attention to detail and confidently analyse complex client information and ownership structures. Possess clear written communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to identify and appropriately escalate risk issues. Bring a collaborative approach and enjoy working with stakeholders across a national law firm. Exposure to AML/KYC, client due diligence, onboarding, regulatory compliance, disputes, investigations or financial services will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
